For each of the violent movies I have chosen they all have the same age rating. I think this is appropriate as it contains:
Violence
Threat
Sex
Nudity

Theories:
The Conjuring 2- The hypodermic theory has an effect on the audience watching the Conjuring 2 as it could lead audiences to believe what they are watching is true or to act upon what they have watched.
Gladiator- The reception theory has an effect on the audience watching Gladiator as it could also lead to audiences believing what they have watched or acting upon what they have watched.
Desensitisation- the idea that prolonged exposure to violent images numbs the effect o them. The more you become accustomed to violent images, the less likely they are to have an impact on the audience.
