unit 1 section5- audience and research definitions

primary audience- the primary audience is the decision-maker and/or decision-making body.

secondary audience-secondary audience is the groups of people that you identify, educate and activate to influence the primary audience. 

qualitative research- Qualitative Research is primarily exploratory research. It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research.


quantitative research-quantitative research is a formal, objective, systematic process in which numerical data is used to obtain information about the world.

Disney
Primary Target Audience-  Children as Disney's theme is childish and therefore attracts them more. 
Secondary Target Audience- Adults as Disney s usually watched by young children meaning that adults attend. There is adult humour within most childres disney programmes therefore allow the adults and children to enjoy it as they don't totally understand the adult humour.

Golf Magazine
Primary Target Audience- Stereotypically older men would be more interested in the magazine.
Secondary Target Audience- Younger men that want to read and understand golf to gain further knowledge and skills.

Smooth Radio
Primary Target Audience- Stereotypically older men and women would listen to it to relax.

Secondary Target Audience- Young men and women who have had a hard day at work.
